The Shop at North Marston Village

Long Marston shop opening

As we know, stockists of Zoot Bars are a discerning bunch, and many have interesting tales to tell.

One such is our most recent convert to Zoot, The Shop at North Marston Village. The Shop is an award winner in many ways. In 2008, 25 years after the last village shop closed, the villagers raised over £110,000 to build, equip and stock the Norwegian Log building adjacent to the village hall.

The money came from local village fund-raising and ‘The Shop’, as it is known (being the only one in the village) was opened on 9th July, 2011 by John Bercow, MP. (see the pic below)

Since then, The Shop has won a host of awards. It was crowned the winner of the South East Award as part of the Rural Community Ownership Awards 2016, and Eddie Parsley, Manager of The Shop, recently won the 2016 People’s Choice Award.

Needless to say, as our newest stockist of Zoot bars they also have impeccable taste – The Shop is well known for its local produce and support for farmers, growers and local makers of food. Sales of local products now make up almost 49% of food sold.

So, if you are passing close by to North Marston village, why not pop in to see Eddie, pick up your Zoot bars and enjoy the local produce on offer in this delightful and hugely successful community shop.
